The Alaska Aces are an elite ECHL hockey team. They are Alaskas home town hockey team!
It was my first time going to a hockey game since coming to Alaska and it turned out to be a great game. I showed up to the game a little late, but had some nice seats down by one of goals. It was the beginning of the second period and the Aces where down by two, the second half was great, the Aces kept the pressure on and controlled the puck, and got themselves back in the lead. Unfortunately, in the third quarter they didn?t do as well and the Victoria Salmon Kings pulled ahead. Still it was a good game and a lot of fun.
If you haven?t been to an Aces game yet I would suggest it. It?s a fun activity for the weekend or weeknight (assuming there is a game). The Sullivan Arena is divided into both a wet side and a dry to meet your sports watching pleasure. There are lots of fun things for the kids to do in between periods with prizes and T-shirts being thrown into the audience. Also Sunday nights have a program to skate with the Aces after the game, which is another treat for the kids, especially after a victory game. Either way Aces Hockey is fun for everyone and a good activity to take advantage of in Anchorage.
